The Astrology of Place: The Greatest Life Hack Ever!

If you are reading this right now, it is highly unlikely in this modern day that you have not heard of your sun sign. It is what people are referring to when they ask for your zodiac sign. You may be a little more advanced with astrology and know your moon sign or rising, and even possibly your house signs. Very rarely, do I come across someone who has heard of Astrocartography, unless of course they are an astrology buff. Astrocarography is the astrology of place. It is the science having to do with how a particular location will effect you and what side of you it will bring out. During the time we are born, all astrological planets have a zodiac sign that they are in. According to our ascendant or rising sign, the planets will have a location relative to where we are born. If you map these locations out, you can draw them out with lines on the globe. There are four major astrological angles that have very pertinent themes and effects for us. When these planets meet these points at a location, we feel the energy strongly. Of these angles, there are the ascendant, the descendant, the midheaven, and the imum coeli. The ascendant has to do with your personhood and how you appear to the world, while its opposite; the descendant has to do with what you seek in others. Someone's midheaven is the noon point of a personal chart and has to do with your most visible point. This is where your reputation and public standing is seen the most and thusly your career and what you build comes to the forefront. Opposite to the midheaven, is the imum coeli. This is resting place of the zodiac between the 3rd house of communication and the 4th house of home. Your nest is built in this house and it's where you rest, and recharge. Psychological foundations are built in the imum coeli and it can tell you much about someone's childhood and how they were nurtured. As a planet hits one of these angles on the map of the world, it will effect this particular theme of a person's life. It is well thought by many astrologers that the most pleasant and easy of these lines for happiness and abundance are sun, venus, and jupiter lines with some angles more advantageous than others. But please, do not discount the other planetary lines which can be very pleasant and bring so much good to your life. I personally might put the moon and mercury as the second tier of benefic. Saturn, mars, and pluto can also be very benefic but come with challenges. As far as saturn goes, a large concensus from people is to not move to your saturn line and that it is one of the worst lines. I for one, disagree much with this sentiment and I've heard and read more and more people speaking to this as well. Saturn has gotten a very unfair reputation. Saturn may be less frivolous and in some ways a party pooper, but it brings such amazing gifts. Discipline, realism, and the productivity to build is such a great aspect of living or visiting a saturn line. I have lived on a saturn line for 12 years and i can say it has helped me build so much and become healthy with it's knack for health routines, financial budgets, and discipline to meet career goals. Mars and pluto have their challenges but also can help very much in the way of ambitions and sheer power and inspiration to make things happen. To give an example of how these lines can effect you, I will mention the sun on ascendant line. Where the sun is on the ascendant, you will feel a confidence within yourself from knowing yourself. Others will recognize and validate you as you are which can make living so much easier without the insecurities we typically face daily. This is a place where you will shine and you will make a mark with your own indivisuality and goals. You will have a need to be your true self and stake your place in your community, and what a beautiful need it becomes. Let's say you are on a venus in midheaven line. Where venus the planet of love, mediation, and pleasure meets the midheaven angle of career; an ease of being manifests. It is here that it is easy for you to get across to the public as your attractiveness is accentuated. Money may come easy as you have an intuitive sense on how to obtain it through your charm, ease, or venusian attraction. Here, you enjoy being admired by others. You develop an ambition for ever greater abundance, and develop your talents and people skills to achieve these aims within your career and public reputation.
